Are the routers running the same routing protocol?
YN
Configure both routers so they are running the same routing protocol such as RIP, IGRP, or OSPF.
NOTE: If you cannot configure both routers to run the same protocol, call Cabletron Technical Support.
With both routers running the same protocol, is the unreachable network still unreachable?
YN
Congratulations, the problem is solved.
Check the configuration of the router directly connected to the unreachable network to make sure that router is
configured to advertise the unreachable network.
NOTE: If there are any questions about how to check the routing protocol configuration, call Cabletron Technical
Support.
Is the router configured properly to advertise the unreachable network?
YN
Correct as necessary and then check to see if the unreachable network can be reached.
Is the unreachable network still unreachable?
YN
Congratulations, the problem is solved.
Are both routers sending and receiving routing protocol updates? (Call Cabletron Technical Support if there
are any questions on how to do this.)
YN
If one or both of the routers are not sending updates, reboot the routers.
Did the unreachable network become reachable?
YN
