FDDI App Views
SMT Device Configuration View
This view provides two tables displaying FDDI information. The Station Table and the MAC
Table. Both tables have double-click zones to access subviews that allow selected entries to
be modified.
To access:
Select
Configuration
from the Icon Subviews menu or double-click
on the text label of the FDDI App Application View icon.
Station Table This table provides a list of the SMT entries. Double-clicking on any entry in
the Station Table accesses a Station Table View, which allows you to modify
the selected entry. The Station Table and its corresponding entry-specific
views provide the information described below. (Note that you must scroll
the Station Table window in order to see all table entries.)
Index A unique integer identifier for each SMT. The value for each SMT must
remain constant at least from one re-initialization of the entity’s network
management system to the next re-initialization.
Station Id The unique identifier for an FDDI station.
OpVersionId The SMT version that this station is using for its operation. The version
number is included in the SMT frame so that a receiving station can
determine whether or not its SMT version is able to communicate with the
SMT version of another station. Knowing the version number allows the
stations to handle version mismatches. Each FDDI station supports a range
of SMT versions.
HiVersionId The highest version of SMT that this station supports. If a received frame
has a version higher than the HiVersionId, the frame is discarded.
LoVersionId The lowest version of SMT that this station supports. If a received frame has
a version lower than the LoVersionId, the frame is discarded.
MIB VersionId The SMT version of the FDDI MIB of this station.
MAC Cts The number of Media Access Control (MAC) entities present in this station
or concentrator, indicating the number of ring port pairs.
